Thin Pinning

So today I received in the mail a bottle of Green Coffee Bean diet supplement. I ordered it Wednesday when I had an awful realization at work.
My uniform zipper split right at my belly!
I decided then it was time to change. So I saw on a post were a woman started a Green Coffee Bean and Garcinia Cambogia program. Figured I'd give it a go and use Pinterest for my healthy recipes and workout tips.
And yes I created a board.
So here's to the next two months of fitting back into my work uniforms like I did a year ago.

DIY Natural Room Scents

A few hours ago I was surfing Pinterest and I ran across natural home scents. You know the ones that say "Make your home smell like a Williams Sanoma!" Whatever that is. I just scrolled along thinking nothing of it.
Well then while my mother and I was eating an orange, Halos to be exact she comes up with this crazy idea.
Mind you she is not a pinner so she knew nothing about the millions of pins.
We use kerosene heat when it gets really cold. We also keep a bowl of water on top of the heater to humidify the house. Nifty huh. So she gets the idea to drop our orange peelings into the scalding hot water. I added a little cinnamon and presto the house has a vague smell of oranges and cinnamon.

I've also seen were you put a mixture like this into a mason jar and put it on a candle warmer. Yum! Look out famy and friends. I think I found the perfect wedding favor!

Happy Pinning!

Baby it's cold outside!!!

We all know the saying for Tennessee weather. "Don't like it today? Stay a few days and it will change." Yeah well I'm soo waiting on that "change" it's cold. And I mean COLD! My thermometer says it's 5 degrees on the coldest side of the house.. Burrr!! But the snow is beautiful. Here are some pictures of the roads and snow.

These were taken around 12:30 AM CST last night. Yes that is a tree in the road. The wind was so brutal! And 90% of all the roads were SLICK!

And these were taken just now. Back roads are still fun to play on but TDOT has been wonderful and kept the main highways clean. Stay safe fellow Tennesseeans!

One Pan Chicken Flatbreads!

Yesterday I posted I was going to make chicken flatbread for dinner. Well I made it today for lunch instead. Here is a link to the BHG website for the full recipe.
http://www.bhg.com/recipe/one-pan-chicken-flatbreads/
And here are the pictures of the successful outcome.

I didn't use a meat mallet to thin the chicken. Instead I used a knife and cut small scores it the top and bottom. I also rubbed the lemon pepper into these cuts and pressed the chicken a little to flatten it.
I also instead of using true flatbread I used the little pocket type bread. It held everything in very well.
Fun fact, I searched all over Walmart for hummus. If your like me and have no idea what hummus is or where to find it. Look in the produce section by the veggies and fruits. Another tip. Make sure to spread this mixture very evenly across the bread. David took a big bite of straight hummus and Greek yogurt and his face was priceless.
And what better way to get the hubby into helping by letting him chop the veggies :) he did a wonderful job!
Here is the magazines picture.
And here is my finished product :) it was very yummy and very filling. I could only eat one and half the second one. I'll be sure to keep making these in the future!
Happy Pinning.

Who's Hungry?

Hey pinners! So with all the talk of single digit temps the next two days I've decided to hull up in the apartment and take on the dreaded task of disassembling the Christmas tree. But first I plan on cooking a delicious dinner tonight before I get things going.

Though it's not a pin it darn well should be so therefor I am making it one! It is a One Pan Chicken Flatbread. I found it in the January 2014 issue of Better Homes and Gardens. It looks mouthwatering so I am taking it upon myself to test for you all. I will post pictures and the official recipe later on tonight. But in the mean time please try to contain your overwhelming excitement.

Just because I LOVE this!! Lol here is the link to buying this little jewel. Ps my birthday is coming up you know. Hint hint ;)

Let's get the Ball Rolling

A recap of last years first pin projects, I made a few different things. (I will post original links to these projects later)
First was way back in the early part of 2013.
The Egg White Mask.
I must say I was black head free for quite a while. But who wants to waste good egg whites on that?
All you do is simply separate out yoke from whites. Brush on the egg whites. Let dry. Peel away and admire the nastiness. I wish I still had pictures to share, it was very graphic.

•Glass Marble Magnates and Nail Art
These little cuties were so simple I made nearly 100 that I gifted out this Christmas and tucked away a few dozen for myself.
It's like painting your nails, only backwards. I'm a huge fan of the Crackle nail polish.
So I first took a floral marble, the ones that are flat on one side
Painted a clear coat on the flat side (this is because the Crackle paint won't crack if you don't have a base nail polish)
Then I painted the background color
Slap on a magnate and WaLa adorable fridge decor.

•Cinnabon Oatmeal Bath Soak
My ALL TIME FAVORITE! It's a simple recipe of:
1 cup Rolled Oats
1/2 cup Baking Soda
1 Tbl Spoon each of vanilla extract, cinnamon, and almond extract.
Pulse together in a food processor and empty into a tub full of warm bath water. I have yet to use it in my bath but just rubbing the powder between your hands makes them incredibly soft! And it smells heavenly!

Other projects where:
•Blue Jean Woven Rug
•Coasters
•Dry Erase Picture Frames
•Button Bracelets
•Fringe T-Shirt Scarf
•Sweater Turned Boot Cuffs
•Rice Filled Hand Warmers

These small projects are the fuel to the Pinterest fire. And here are pictures I took inspiration from in my Christmas Decor

And a view of my beautiful tree.

And just because I love it. Here's a funny Ugly Christmas Sweater found, where else, on Pinterest.

It's a New Year!!!

First off I would like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I am a first time blogger. So be patient with me as I grow accustomed. I guess I could start by explaining myself. My name is Keely Davis, ripe old age of 20.
Home is in a small town in Tennessee. Population 4,000 (more or less) It's the kind of place you hear about in country music.
I recently became engaged. (Insert party noises) I couldn't be more excited. Look for a lot of posts being wedding related in the upcoming months.
Then there are the typical things about myself; my love for reading, fall weather, family and so forth. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Back to my purpose of this blog. I recently, within the past year, became uncontrollably addicted to Pinterest. But who isn't, right? I found hundreds of ideas that I just HAD to do. So while chatting with a fellow pinner from work, I decided to start a blog on January 1, yeah yeah I'm a day late, and track my pinnings that I attempt to accomplish. So here we are!
So for you, the reader, and might I say bless your soul for dropping by, I shall compose 365 days worth of attempts to recreate my favorite pins. With a few other curve balls along the way. I do hope you all enjoy my blog and I hope to encourage other faithful pinteresters to follow suit and not just repin and forget.

You can find me on Facebook or my Email!
